Someone just told me that if you are taking Imitrex for your migraine headaches and take tylenol around the same time that you can have a severe respiratory reaction.  HAs anyone ever heard of this happening?  The doctor I see for migraines never said anything about mixing the two drugs being a problem.

I have never tried it, but I was told that if you take Fioricet and Imitrex at the same time you can wind up in the emergency room. Fioricet is nothing more than tylenol with codeine and caffiene so it lends credence to the theory that tylenol and Imitrex don’t mix.But of the two drugs I vote Imitrex as the best migraine pain medication. It totally knocks my migraines out! I don’t know why you would need tylenol if you have Imitrex.

    Corky,

Fioricet also has butalbital in it. Butalbital is a barbiturate, so Fioricet IS more than tylenol with codeine and caffeine.
